The VXOne is a very cool new 2-3 person 19 ft performance sail boat! I shot this regatta on a lake near Dallas and was so surprised by Rush Creek Yacht Club on the shores of lake Hubbard. A great setting, a beautiful clubhouse and a superbly run event. It was a blast! We had great conditions (a little more sunshine would have been very welcome) and the fleet of 20 something boats put on an awesome show and showed how much fun sailboat racing can be. For the on the water shooting I used a Canon XF300 camcorder with a Kenyon 6×6 gyro to stabilize it all. This was my first time with the 6×6 Kenyon gyro and what a difference it made. Thanks to Randy and his team at Kenyon for helping me set up my on the water shooting rig, it sure worked! See for your self how steady the clips are. To take the weight of the camera and gyro off my arms and back I used the Swedish EasyRig which is every mans dream; a sky hook to hang the camera on. I could shoot like this all day long.

A big thank you to Hayden Bennet for driving the chase boat, Halsey Fulton for the editing of the video and to Brian Bennet, the designer of the VXOne for the assignment.
