I have barely used Harken Maxi Cockpit bag (Boom length, long black zip bag, holds boom, sails, rudder and gear all in 1 bag). Also have rudder/tiller, spreader, and shroud bags all like new.

SOLD - Used North Gen IV - Complete set. Very good condition. Always stored rolled. White kite in very good shape. Extra set of heavy air battens. Sails only used in approximately 5 events. Great 2nd set of sails for summer racing, local, regional events. Much better than a set of beater set of practice sails and for less than 1/3 cost of new. Asking $1500 OBO. Will ship FREE rolled and ready to lower 48 - maybe even Canada :)

The 2015 VX One North American Championship is confirmed for Gulfport Yacht Club from October 3-7, 2015. Here are unofficial, preliminary plans:

NAC Measurement – Saturday, October 3
Measurement and practice race – Sunday, October 4
NAC racing – Monday to Wednesday, October 5 –7
Thursday, October 8 – Lay Day - rig VX Ones for Championship of Champions and practice race - Great time to assist and mingle with One Design champions from many classes (AKA -  potential VX One owners)
Friday to Sunday, October 8-10 – US Sailing - Championship of Champions Event

The NAC runs back to back with the US Sailing Championship of Champions for which the VX One has been the selected for 2015. We are going to need 21 boats for the C of Cs. This opportunity comes at a key time for the growth of our Class and all owners are asked to consider the gracious use of your boat following the NAs for the C of Cs. Bennett Yachting and Fleet 1 members are dedicated to making both these events notable for our Class. We will also be asking those who can hang around and assist and spectate to do so. This can also be the staging point for moving boats back down to Florida for the 2015/16 winter series. Yes, it's more than a year out, but now is not too late to start capitalizing on this opportunity to grow our Class.

Did you know, that on this forum, the Regattas & Events category alone has had a total of 15,634 views?

Starting a new discussion here and hoping you might chime in on the adjusting of the mainsheet bridle for varying conditions, affect on main leech and headstay, etc. It would be good too if other have experience with this from other classes that use double mainsheet bridles like the 49er, etc. Thanks.

Regattas and Events / Sailing World Annapolis NOOD 2014
February 21, 2014, 01:11:23 PM
Encouraging ALLVX owners to preregister now for Annapolis NOOD. The organizers are looking at ONLY our "early" preregistration as an indication of our seriousness to attend the event. This plays a vital role in our location as a fleet and the logistics. Bottomline, we need all VX owners to preregister NOW even if you are currently unsure of you plans.
Thanks,
David Reich VX Class

Not sure if everyone has seen these or not. These were taken at the NA's by Art Chauvin from Daphne AL who was on the commmittee boat during the NA's. Art asks that credit be giving if the photos are used for publication.

VX One Sailors,

First, lets keep all those in the path of Sandy in mind over the next few days. Storms of this magnitude are no fun as many of us know.

As we near the 1st VX One Naorth Americans, I'd like to take a minute to thank each of you who have pre-registered and made the committement to attend. It is going to be a great event and an opportunity to get to know one another better - both on and off the water.

Having our class constitution and rules published already, a website and forum up and running, and North American Championship with our goal of 15 boats (maybe a couple more by race day) ONLY 10 MONTHS AND 1 WEEK after the first boat was delivered is nothing short of amazing. It is a testiment to the dedication of each of our owners, Brian Bennett and his team, and dedicated class association board. All involved deserve to be congratulated.

I look forward to seeing all in attendance at Pensacola. If you are not attending, we have some great future events planned and others in the works.

In the meantime, get out and sail your VX One. Take someone new onboard. Spread the news about this great new boat and others will surely become "evolved".

I am excited

Hi VX'rs!!

We are one month out from our 1st ever VX One North American Championship at beautiful Pensacola Yacht Club. This is shaping up to be a great first event and I am really looking forward to seeing all the new VX owners together. This is going to be a great chance to meet new folks, learn some tips on sailing the VX One, share some of your own experiences on the VX One, and just have some fun.

A few housekeeping items:

1. Pre-register for the North Americans now. We are SO close to our goal of 15 boats and we'd love to see 18!! You can make this happen!
2. JOIN the VX One Class Association. As owners of VX's, our strength is in our class association. You have board members who have been working hard to make your VX experience the best and who are just like you - VX owners who love the boat and wish to protect the investment we've made.

Again, I look forward to meeting all of you and your families and crews. We are off to a great start! Thank you.

Sailing, Handling, Tips and Techniques / Handicap racing
September 03, 2012, 01:25:42 PM
135 jumped in a couple races yesterday at BSC. There were about 8 Thistles and a handful of other boats (snipe, J22, FS, etc). It was interesting to see how we did in Portsmouth. While the mistakes we made (mostly boat handling having new crew and not raced together before) cost us - I still do not know if we could have made up our time on the better sailed Thistles. It was a Beaufort 3 and races were only about 15 min long each. That means we might have had to give the Thistle 100 sec. Sailed only 2 of the four races. When I have the details I will share here.
