I sailed the UK nationals a few backs and was told that there is a discussion ongoing about changes to the class rules in 2017.
Could anybody point me to where that discussion takes place - just can't find it anywhere.
Thanks!

Being a new owner, I asked Hayden what setup he would recommend for the spinnaker halyard/retrieval lines and for the sheets. Here's his answer:

As for the kite set up. When you get the tapered gear you will see that the halyard (yellow line) has a long taper (6m) and a short taper (3m). The long taper is for the halyard as it is to reduce windage and friction on the hoist. The short end is the retrieval. This is set so when rigging the kite on STB the line passes under the foot,  thru the grommet in the center of the sail, then you put the black stopper ball on the line.

Next you have a soft shackle and tag line. The tag line is fixed to the puller patch on the sail roughly 1.5m above the grommet. Then use the soft shake to join the 2 lines, making it so the knot of the shackle is in the stopper ball. This is to prevent it from snagging on any obstructions.

The same goes for the head of the sail. When attaching the head to the halyard, place the knot of the soft shackle in the grommet of the head and using tape on the middle of the shackle make 2-3 raps around.  This is to stop the knot from getting pulled into the rig and possibly creating a dousing issue at the bottom mark.

In regards to the spin sheets. Rig as normal thru the blocks until it come time to attach to clew. Here take the second provided tag line and link the 2 ends of the sheets together and using the last shackle, attach the other end to the webbing in the clew.  Then go have fun!!

I noticed that putting the keel bolts in is not totally straightforward - here's what Hayden wrote to me on that question:

To fasten the keel. First thing is to ease the center 2 bolts about a 1/4-1/2 turn (should only need to do this if top plate has been removed). Then push down on the front of the top plate and start the forward bolt first. Make sure you do about 2-3 turns by hand to ensure you are not cross threaded. You can use the lifting tackle to push the keel forward with your shoulder if bolt still isn't lining up. But once you have the front half way down. Insert the aft bolt and you should be set.

Greetings - I just bought 209 from Nathan at Ovington boats and had it delivered to Switzerland. I know some of you from sailing the US nationals last year in Gulfport - I am very happy to join you in the class.

I had a few setup questions which Hayden answered for me in great detail and very easily understandable.
I will post his answers in subsequent posts, so that other new owners may be able to find them.

With regards to the vang:
I see that the length of the vang line is made adjustable on the boom. I am wondering what a good setup to start with may be.
Does anybody now boom height over deck with the vang all released - or how is your vang base setting?
