Used Boats, Sails, and Gear / Re: #135 For Sale
January 24, 2020, 12:17:28 PM
I Confirmed with Bob Bilthouse this morning (1/24/2020) that 135 is still for sale.
Robby Brown has lightened the keel too.
The boat is in the Tampa area and could be available for racing the February and March Sarasota Series regatta's!

Here is Randy Draftz reply to the three crew requirement:

"Yes we are aware that we need to amend this for the Vx One Class. I will get this done shortly.

Thanks

Regards,
Randy Draftz
Charleston Yachting & Regatta Management"

So I'm assuming they will modify the NOR to allow two crew on the VX One.

Paris Henken, Alie Toppa and Annabell Carrington would like to sail a VX One in Charleston Race Week.  Last year I loaned these College of Charleston sailing team members my boat.  They had a great time and would really like to sail the regatta again this year. Paris was 10th in the 49'erFX in the 2016 Olympics and is teaming up with Anna Tunnicliffe for the 2020 Olympics again in the 49'erFX.

If you can make your boat available it is a great way to support both these young women sailors and the VX One class.

Christian, thanks for bringing this up.  I've written to Randy Draftz for clarification about sailing with two people.  I'll post his reply here.

Here are the current (5/2013) VX One class rules for the mast butt position:

C.9.5   MAST
(a)   USE
(1)   Bolts shall be secured in the mast step track in the fourth hole from the front and third hole from the rear.  The mast tenon shall be stepped in the mast step track in such a way that the tenon shall be fixed against the aft bolt.
(b) 2. Mast Butt Position:  Bearing surface of aft mast track bolt to aft face of top rudder pintle.   Minimum = 3326 mm, Maximum = 3336 mm

The mast step track is installed in the boat using a jig which references the forward facing surface of the molded-in center foot rest so that the position of the mast tracks are the same from boat to boat.  Also, the track is symmetric front to back so that the track may be installed with either end forward.
