I would look to lengthen your tack line (probably by just moving the knot) which would enable the pole to go out further. Another 2 inches should be achievable - so the launch lines comes out at 90 degrees from the block.

The GBR fleet is gearing up for our first event of 2015. There are already 9 boats entered which should be a great show with over 100 other yachts on the water at this presitigous event

Regattas and Events / UK 2015 VX One circuit

We've been busy finalising our 2015 regatta circuit. If any sailor from the USA fancy coming over I'm sure we can sort charter boats for any of these regattas...

May 22-25 Scottish Series, Tarbet https://www.scottishseries.com/
June 27/28 Inland Championship, Ullswater YC
July 24-26, Taittinger Regatta, Royal Solent YC, Yarmouth, Isle of White
August 8-15, Cowes Week www.aamcowesweek.co.uk
Sep 25-27, National Championships, Weymouth SC

The National Championships is the only 'stand alone' event, the others are all part of big multi class events. Cowes Week typically has between 800-1,000 keelboats and yachts racing (the VX One was one of the shortest boats there)!

Please get in touch if you fancy coming over, we may be able to sort a GBR boat for you to crew on, or a boat to charter...

We're including Cowes Week in our 2015 UK VX One class circuit. Howard Steavenson and myself are looking to compete again with a couple of new and existing owners keen on joining in. There will be charter boats available to UK and overseas sailors if anyone else fancies joining in on the fun...

We had a great time racing at Cowes - I was on Grapefruit Graphics for the week. Our IRC rating seems pretty competitive which is good to see. The VX's managed to finish 1,2,3 on the water in a few races as well. Generally windier races were better for us. Compared the well sailed Viper that was racing, we were marginally slower upwind at times, quicker downwind and quicker reaching.

Here is a link to the report on Yachts & Yachting website http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/178350/VX-Ones-lead-the-way

It was my first time racing in Cowes Week and what a spectacle. Reputedly around 800 boats and 5000 sailors. HUge shoreside undertaking - 3 live music stages going from 1200 to 0200, dozens of food stalls and plenty of bars/ cafe's/ restaraunts.

VX One Discussions / Re: VX One in the UK

Same cloth as used in the US but film dyed to a 'smoke' colour. Cut - good question - latest North design I presume (the tag on sail bag doesn't give a model).

The spinnaker is an Intensity sail we've had logo'd.

UK Dinghy Show this weekend with our new demo boat - GBR 165 on display.

Attached photo of our Intensity spinnaker we've had the VX One logo cut in by a local sailmaker.

We had a great day sailing GBR 149 at Queen Mary reservoir on the outskirts of London during a boat test by Yachts & Yachting magazine.

Quick message to say thank you to everyone involved in making the 2013 North American Championships such a great regatta. I know lots of people were involved in the organisation from the VX One class association, Rush Creek YC and Bennett Yachting.

I had an awesome time on and off the water and hope to return for a regatta next year...

Cheers,

Nathan
